When sanding on the lathe ----TRIN YOUR FINGER NAILS!. Not only
does it hurt when it catches :eek: your nail can make quit a nick in the work.:(

can be pretty painful too if you get too close to the restraining pads, even at slow speed. Thank God the one's on mine are the soft rubber.:) It only took once to make sure I was well inside the outer diameter! I've torn a fingernail on the Super Nova jaws once when sanding a small spindle piece. I always tell myself "never again" ... but somehow I manage. Nothing serious, but still hurts like the dickens. Be careful. Be very, very careful, especially if you're sanding or wiping on finish with the tools running. Ken, glad to hear you're okay.
