hello all.
Quick newbe question
In corel x3 how do I go about placing a red hairline
Around a logo so I can vector cut it ?
let me know if you need more info

You will click on the logo, click the effects button and create a boundary. This will give you a hailine around the whole thing. Another way you can do this is simply to click on the logo and right click on a color in the color bar.

here is another one for you experts out there.
ill also load my file so you guys can see.

i want to engrave a picture of my friend and his fam on wood.
i want to outline them with a vector hairline so i can cut them out...:confused:

how would i go about doing that create boundry but that didnt work

Fred;
1. Remove background from around family
2. Crank up contrast and reduce brightness until you have a white background and the family is dark
3. Use Magic wand to select background
4. Select inverse
5. Save as Tiff file and preserve transparency
6. Import image to Corel and make a boundary
7. Take vector boundary and place it over the original image.

Another way to get the cut out line is to use the "cutout lab" in Corel Photopaint. There is a great tutorial on it in help. This will allow you to cut out the image of the family and create the boundary around them.

thanks bob and joe for your replys i will try both tomrrow

in the mean time i used the shape tool in corel to trace the picture took a bit but i think it came out pretty good but im sure theres has to be a faster way. :D

i used birch 1/32 pretty thin stuff but i like it
