Posting in 2 different forums

I posted a question, first in the "General Woodworking" forum and then in the "Turning" forum. I wanted input from both the flat workers and the spinny thing workers. Now my post in the "General" forum has di appeared. Is posting the same question in 2 forums a no-no or did I do something wrong?

Technically, cross posting in multiple forums is prohibited at SMC. I've made a courtesy adjustment and restored the thread to GW to solicit "Flat Work" ideas after discussing with other moderators.
