Some time ago, I built 2 cedar garden benches and used gorilla glue/PVA for all mortise/tenon and dowell joints (for back slats). Recently, one of the benches was vandalized ( neighborhood prank!? ) and I'm trying to restore/repair/replace. Many of the mortise/tenons are intact but a key tenon was broken off resulting in a flush end at a critical joint. 1) How do you reco removing old glue and cleaning up 2) which glue to use to replace (Exterior use)3) any general tips particularly w the broken tenon? Other than, "don't swear" and "have faith and patience"?
Thanks in advance

Sand it flush and do a loose tenon to repair. You can use a router to mortise both sides or use the Beadlock system. Glue should be exterior rated; either PVA type II or III or polyurethane or epoxy.
