Radek - congrats on your new lathe! Also congrats on the birch! Make sure you seal the ends of it real soon or it will start to check! I use anchorseal - but latex paint works in a pinch!

I turned some Dried Cherry vase yesterday. I need to chuck the end and hollow it out just a bit. I turned some of the birch today, I wish this stuff dried faster lol. I feel like trying to put it in my oven.

Chunk and anchorseal are on my list, waiting till friday and going to pick them up.

Great gloat Radek! And you have a good solid lathe there. It should serve you well. I also turn on the 1442. When the speed handle starts feeling stiff just remove the covers and blow the dust out from the housing. A drop of 3 in 1 oil on the shafts and you are back turning again. Enjoy and please post your first project you are happy with off of the big-white-one...Bill
