Don't get me started on AFLAC. I purchased a policy in the mid 90's from work for disability insurance. I was laid up for two months with neck surgery to remove a c4-c5 bone spur. They paid absolutely $00000.00 without any other numbers in front of the zero's. I guess I should have read the policy better, but believed the salesperson who sold me the policy that it would pay for anything from the common flu upwards. No amount of appealing their decision paid off. Hindsight is 20/20 though. All I can say is "caveat emptor" & read the small print.

Edit: Also if you come across that goose, punt him like a football for me.

It is not a very good deal. The odds of ever needing it are very very small.

Which is why the cost is typically very low. Disability insurance is to protect you against loosing your ability to earn money. I totally agree. Caveot emptor.
