Hi people,

I have Corel 10. When I draw a Box, the "X" is always much greater than the reality? I noticed a video lesson at Laser-U shows the same behavior for X3.

I would have thought the "X" would be relative to the page edge but it seems to be relative to something else as does the "Y" Can someone please explain this to me so that I can enter a value for the "X" that will actually position the box at the correct spot.

OK, next question. Does anyone know of free line-art drawings? Preferably Vector drawn or converted to vector.

Thanks again

I believe the x and y are based off the center of your box. Not the top or bottom.

The dimension given in the header is to the center of the box (object). Therefore the 'X' corner is at .745-(.491/2) = .4995. Similar for the 'Y' corner.

Ahhh, thanks guys.

I noticed in the video of X3 there is an option in the Object Properties for setting the offset to the edge but it is not in v10. Bummer.

Thirty miles from Show Low and no neighbors for almost a mile in any direction. :)

Dave,

You could open the TRANSFORM menu and use the positioning function in here. This allows you to choose the corner, the side, or the center to position by.

You get to that menu from arrange/ transformations

Hi Mike, thanks for the suggestion I had not found the Transform item.

under commands there is a drop down menu where you'll find the transform menu

Hi Mike,

Thanks for that. I have never used it before, in fact I have never even noticed it before. When I saw it on the Laser-U video lesson I assumed it was an X3 thing. DUH!! It was in v10 all the time. <sigh> I blame old age!
