would a scrool saw that you would turn by hand count for this section?
i recently aquired a delta specialties CO. american boy scroll saw. i am looking to restore it. it still has the original paint on it. but it doesnt have the hold down arm any more.

I think it would myself, but the Delta scroll saw was manufactured around 1923, well after motors were adapted to machines (around 1908 if I remember correctly), and as such most had motors of some type attached to them.

Do you have a pic? I'd like to see the handle setup, the ones I've seen had pulleys to attach to the motor.

i dont have a picture of it. i cant upload picturtes at school,. and right now i cant use the computer at home. there are pictures of this and other models over at, owwm.org. the saw is small, bench top thing. there is a handcrank that moves the arm up and down.

you guys seam to do some restoring stuff here. the saw still has the original paint on it, under rust and dirt. should i scrap it all off. or try to save the paint? what would be worth more to sell?
