Hello everyone. Is anyone going to the Woodworking show in Tucson, the weekend of Nov. 7 ?
This will be my 1st time attending any Woodworking show and I am looking forward to it. I know
the talk is that the shows are not as good as they used to be, but what is? http://www.forums.woodnet.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yellowsad.gif Since I have never
been I am going to check it out for myself.
Anyway, anyone going or not going, to the show http://www.forums.woodnet.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/raised.gifinterested in some sort of get together. I am
looking at this as a good opportunity for local woodworkers to meet and greet http://www.forums.woodnet.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yellowyes.gif.
Anyone interested can post here or email me.

I tried getting some folks from another forum interested to no avail. The show itself would not be enough to get me down there but if you toss in a Saturday morning breakfast with fellow woodworkers beforehand then I would definitely be interested.

Hey Scott, I am trying to round up some people. I also posted on another forum. I have one response so far from Karl.
But there is still time.
I think this would be a great opportunity to meet other woodworkers.
I will let you know.

Lori and Scott,

I'm considering it, but it kind of scares me at this late date that there's nothing on the website detailing the vendors or education for Tucson. This alone concerns me re their planning and organization.

There's vendor info for the next couple of shows, it's not bad but it's not great.

Being that it's a couple of hours away I'd want to be real sure there's more there than what they had in Phoenix last year.

James, I just went to the web site and you are right about nothing being posted about exhibitors. I just sent an email to "The Woodworking Show" for more info about the Tucson show. I will post any response.

I got something in the mail last week about the show. It didn't look any different from what I've seen in the past two years and I wasn't impressed the last two times that I've been. It looks like same old same old just in a different location.

Yes, I forgot about that. It was a flyer with dates, times and location of the show. It also had a coupon for $2 off or free spouse.

The Show has already been held in St. Paul and Portland. Hopefully someone will give some feedback on those Shows. It will be in Salt Lake this weekend, 10/23 - 10/25.

That is true Dave. I also have somewhere between 6-8 people interested from the "other" forum :D.
I think we are talking about doing breakfast on Saturday before the show.

I attended the show last year in Chicago while visiting my Mom for her 90th birthday. I thought it was a disappointment and will not be driving to Tucson this year from Phoenix.

Thier is an add , I think on page 26 or 28 in the December issue of Fine Woodworking that states to bring in the add for free admission. I'm curious to see if this works or not.

Thanks

Sorry you won't be joining us, Don.
Todd, I don't get Fine Woodworking so I can't help you.
