Here is a pic of a turkey call I just turned using a local burl. It has to be one of the prettiest burls I've worked with including Amboyna. I won't tell you what it is, but if your good at reading upside down it is written on the call.

rhododendron (my grandparents were from Ashville. :) ) and it is VERY nice. How was it to work with ?

Thanks everyone. The rhodadenron works very easy. It moves a lot as it dries. I cut this in 1/2" slabs to dry. It turns and works a lot like cherry burl. I wish that I could find larger Rhodadenron burls.
