I think a lot of you have seen S, Velie's posting regarding the Western PA Table Project. On e of the areas we are exploring with this project is using table and bench building as a venue to teach basic woodworking to junior and senior high school kids. Does anybody have any thoughts on who to contact about possible funding for this either state, federal, or foundation. Thanks, Jim Moose, project director.

Jim,

Contact The Furniture Society at www.furnituresociety.org They give out some Education Grants. I don't know if you meet the requirements, but it's worth a shot.

The AAW (http://www.woodturner.org) (American Association of Woodturners) also has a grant program.

I also know that Mark Sffiri was able to hook a very nice grant a few years ago to re-outfit the Bucks County Community College shop which has a nice post-secondary woodworking program. I'm not sure from where, but it tells me that there is funding "out there"...
