I was going to post a comment under Drew's intarsia table with the sun motif which I thought was just really, really cool. Then, I was inspired by his piece to post some pictures of some similar work we did a few years ago. Ours is a +/- 6'x6' folding room screen commissioned by an international bead wholesaler to reflect and complement her collection of ethnic artifacts from around the world. It was a fun and challenging project to design and execute.

Thanks for posting this. As I mentioned in my thread I've seen very few examples of intarsia that aren't flowers and animals and stuff (not that there's anything wrong with that). I'm interested in seeing more unusual applications for it. I love the pattern - very whimiscal, with an African feel to it.

That is really nice. I generally like intarsia though I think at times it is used with somewhat simplistic images. This really takes it to a new height in my mind. It really is a great piece and speaks well for itself.

Interesting looking and very nicely executed. What species of wood are used in the panels?
