I know this is a touchy subject amongst handtool purists and is sure to ignite a storm of controversy only slightly less volatile than the EZ-Festool or ClearVue-Oneida wars but just so's I'm clear -
Do you cut the eyes first or the mouth?

The eyes. That way the pumpkin can see what you're doing but is unable to criticize or give unwanted advice

You have to cut the top off first! :p Then eyes, nose, mouth....

chris fletcher has it right people... cut the top off first.... scoop out the seeds remove some of the slimy stuff sprinkle with salt lay seeds flat on a cookie sheet and roast @ 400 degrees till toasty and delish...then begin cutting the pumpkin as you munch on the seeds...i love halloween!!!!!:D
