I'm a fairly new woodworker and am trying to amass the tools needed for the hobby. I have been looking for a used 14" band saw for some time and have not had any luck. I was either too late or I thought the prices were too high on the one's listed. I checked CL today and low and behold there was a Delta 14" model 28-269. This is one of the "white" versions. I called the guy about an hour after the ad was posted and he still had it. I drove over to his house and made the deal with him for this. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o265/SteveV6621/Woodworking/14inchbandsaw.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o265/SteveV6621/Woodworking/14inchbandsaw9.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o265/SteveV6621/Woodworking/14inchbandsaw11.jpg It's missing the fence (rails are there) and the table insert plate but otherwise is in excellent condition. The mobile base came with it. It has one blade on it and the guy threw in 3 brand new Timberwolf 105" blades. I paid $285.00 drive out. How did I do? Steve

I'd say you did real good on that. A little Scotch-Brite & WD-40 on that table and it will look like new.

Good deal I think. Congrats. When I read your head line, my first though was "Put that down man, those things are heavy, you're going to hurt your back picking one up!"

Much more fun than buying an inferior quality one at a Box store. I really like my 14 inch Delta Metal /wood cutting saw. looks to be the same other than the gearbox.

what, if anything, does the "&quote" mean?

It is an HTML issue I think...I've corrected it. :)

Great deal. It also has the extension on it already so it can do up to 12" re-saw.

Congrats Steve!

I will actually be driving up to Milwaukee on Saturday to pick up the same saw, mine is blue though. I got mine on eBay for $350 with a $105 Live rebate, so $245 total.

Nope, just the stock setup.

Thanks for all of the replies everyone. Now to get it set up and using it.....
