Hi All,

I am working on a project with my wife. We are making a stone candle with a carved wooden base.

Originally, we were going to simply drill a 1/8" hole in the stone for the candle.

Now, my wife would like to use tea candles which require a hole about 1" in size.

The hole for the tea candle cannot go all the way through the stone, so I am looking for a forstner "type" drill bit that I can use in stone.

I did a quick search and did not see anything that looked liked it might work.

Any suggestions?

Here is a picture of kind-of what we are making. Ours will be on carved wood bases.

Thanks

Pete

Why not use masonry bits, start small and work up to 1". Drill slightly deeper than needed, then put a small layer of leveling material or epoxy in the bottom to make it flat. Would something like that work? You could even mix some of the dust from drilling in with whatever you use to level the bottom with. Jim.

That might work, but I think there is a chance it would crack the stone. I am working with smaller pieces.

Really looking for a diamond type bit that will cut the hole(s) I need.

Keep the tips coming.

Thanks
