Box Elder pedestal box

This is Box Elder burl with a finial and base made from Cocobolo. The grain and color in the Cocobolo clashed with the grain in the Box Elder so I hit it with some black dye. You can still see a little of the grain but only if you look close. It's 10" tall, 4" dia, lacquered.

David, the lid actually sits on a thin lip made from a ring and glued into the box.
