Craftsman has a Professional 3 amp random orbital variable speed sander that is comparable to the Ridgid (I think that they are made with almost identical specs). I've compared them and tried out the Ridgid. The sander usually sells for around 80 bucks. It is on sale for 59.99 and if your in the Craftsman club, like myself, it goes down to 53.99. For all of you who are dead set against Craftsman, this is a very good sander! I have had a couple of these for some time now--I have used them hard--and they continue to deliver quality results! 3 amp motor, variable speed, soft start, reduced vibration and dust collection port.
