Well, this is certainly one for the books.
My youngest daughter volunteered to look after a dog while her friend was on vacation.
The dog turned out to be an 11 month old Doberman, named Parker.
Parker was a nice dog, who unfortunately wasn't well trained, nor as it turned out, housebroken.
We kept Parker, and he was steadilly improving as he was willing to learn rules and what was expected from him. He had a few house breaking accidents, however nothing we couldn't cope with.
That is, until last night, which is 4 weeks after his owner picked him up.
I went downstairs to the workshop to use the bandsaw, and it looked like someone had poured orange juice all over the top of the saw, and it had trickled down the cabinet, splashed on the table etc.
Looking up, I noticed that there were stains on the 6 inch pipe for one of the registers in the living room.
Well, you guessed it, Parker had urinated in the floor register, it ran down the pipe to a joint, which was right over my bandsaw!
Last night I took the doors off, the table, pulled both wheels off (boy I had forgotten how heavy cast iron wheels that size are), and of course all the blade guides/elevating mechanisms etc.
The table has one corrosion spot that I cleaned up, however the bearing for the guides all need replacing.
The doors and welded frame cleaned up perfectly, the paint protected them.
Oh yes, and I had to take down the ducting and clean it.
What a memorable dog Parker has turned out to be.
regards, Rod.
