Jet Bandsaw

Hello All,

I ran into a possible good deal on a Jet 14" bandsaw. It is model JWBS-140S. The google did not turn up much in the way of reviews. So I thought I would check and see if anyone has any opinions / review / experience with this saw.

How good of a deal is the question and what do you plan on doing with it? I have an older delta 14" of basically the same design with a 3/4 hp motor and I was so sure I would need more power until I tuned the saw and put a good blade on it and this weekend I was re-sawing 10" cherry with ease. Now you wont slice through hardwwod in seconds but it will get the job done with practice. So if it's that good of a deal go for it and have fun but you might try the "list" or some other avenue to find a good used one. I would also consider purchasing the riser block so you'll have 12" under guides and get a good fence.
