The trouble with reading this forum is the illusion that it’s a jovial gathering of bud’s sitting around the table saw talking shop. When your jolly pal start telling you of the unbelievable deal they got on a tool, only to be interrupted by the others spouting off about their latest outstanding acquisitions. I mumble to myself that these guys are like my buddy’s fish that keeps getting bigger every time he retells the legend. These deals have to be an embellishment of an ordinary transaction. I’ve been scoping Craig List for five years and I've only gotten that slippery stuff between my fingers.

Till today---- Performax 16-32 Plus

Got it from a gentleman and fellow woodworker in Nashville who only used it a couple of times before buying a 38" sander. Like new shape. For me $500 is a good deal---- finally.

Update:
I got to use the sander today. The drum was misaligned to the table plane (high on the open end). Belt tension was adjusted. Tested with 120 grit paper and ran some poplar through. Had to tweak the in/out feed tables to eliminate a bit of snipe. Final product was excellent. This machine will be use primarily for surfacing laminates. I'm very happy - maybe not the ultimate gloat but a fair deal.

That's great. How big will the sander be and how little will it have cost after telling this tale a few dozen times :D:D:D? Kidding aside. Glad you finally hooked one.

And to think the guy up the road from me had one for sale $300 and I took a pass. Have no idea what I was thinking at the time.
Enjoy your new toy/tool.

You did VERY well.

That's $1000 worth of sander right there with the feed tables and casters :D

I won't tell you what i found MINE for, but it was a similar deal :)
