I have 2 counterbore (counter bore?) sets,

a Makita that doesn't have a depth stop (I mark the depth with White Out, but that doesn't work when I drill at an angle) and the pilot drill bit is too small (can't be changed)
and an unknown brand (possibly HF?) which has a tapered bit but the countersink "head" won't cinch down tight enough

I want to countersink common sizes (8, 10, 12) and I want a stop (fixed is fine). Who sells something that works? Thanx!

I shop Rockler when they get dull and replace the bits from the BORG when they break. I also chuck up a my router bits sometimes as well.

Lee Valley has a few different ones. I imagine Woodcraft/Rockler would as well.

I think the Jack Rabbit set is supposed to be good. I believe it has a stop and has a convenient quick change system for switching from drilling/counterboring to driving.

I have a set from Fuller. I have been very pleased with their performance. http://www.wlfuller.com/html/counterbore_sets.html

Doug,
I agree wiht Thomas. I had a couple of sets (that did not work well) until I bought a set of Fullers. Had then for 3 years and no problems or complaints.
