Mike - this works for me! A very balanced contemporary form, beautiful wood and finish! Reminds me of one of Keith Burn's flat top series! I like the proportions and the decisive shoulder! Very nice work - as per usual! Thanks for sharing!

just posted my first hollow form with a finial---I am looking to improve greatly and your work always impresses me----doyou actually use Ebony or black wood for the finial or have you died or ebonized a lighter piece of wood?

Steve, I should have mentioned my buddy Keith on this one. Keith has given me tips on the segmented pieces and has a good eye for form. Mine's not as elegant as his by any means but I did have his series in mind when I did this one.
John, the finial is ebonized.
