Here is a walnut bowl I just finished. The rim is a little different than any I've done before.

That is beautiful, Jack. And thanks for teaching those students a skill they can use for a lifetime. My son is a freshman in college, you can see him in my avatar with me. He constantly amazes me with what he can do.
All the best.

That's a great style, with or without the detail below the rim. I really do like the rounded lip a lot. Very nice work!

Real good looking bowl Jack! I like the rim - the rounded edge adds to the form. What did you use for a finish? Looks great!

Mike I looked at this bowl several times, yes I like it, but I'm still wondering why it looks so light colored, almost like White Walnut AKA Butternut, or is this Carpathian Walnut maybe ??(English walnut to some people)
I like a thicker lip on bowls especially if I go for a thinner wall, looks good on your bowl with that higher rim, thanks for showing.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Steve I used deft on this bowl. Ted it is your light tent, it works better than the one I made. Leo, It is black walnut even if it is on the light side, the tree has been down for years.
Thanks again,
Jack
