Just set up my new SawStop today. What a nice saw. I have two attachments that I have questions about. Has anyone installed a HTC roller outfeed table? I had it on my Jet and really like it. I plan to install on the SawStop. Any insights would be greatly welcome.

The second item I have is a new Jessem Mast R Slide. Has anyone installed this on a Sawstop without removing the left wing? If so, how has that worked out? I am somewhat reluctant to cut the rails of this new saw. I may change my mind but would like to know my options.

Thanks

So I added a second left 30"X10" table and then added the Jessem Mast R Slide. I did it for big door cuts (buddy needed 10 cut) or cuts larger than the 52" (PSI Dust guard as at the end of the saw so the left side of the blade still does not work for me on those large pieces).

Last night I used it to trim the edge of a countertop a buddy had given me. It was 70" long. I moved slider fence to the back position and then placed the counter top on the saw/slider. Started the saw, held the counter top against the slider, and walked it right though - perfect 90 degree cut. It was awesome. I was thinking it was one of the larger Sawstop sliding saws out there!!

Did you buy the drawers and longer mobile base with your saw? Or did you build them yourself? I just bought a saw stop and want to add drawers to it.

That is the HTC base - H3274EX I think is the model number.

I made a laminated plywood shelf for it and added a waterloo ball bearing tool cabinet from Farm and Fleet.

Hi Mike,
Nice set-up. I have the conventional DC hookup to the SS cabinet, and still have a lot of table top blow-by. How well does the overhead work and does it get in the way at times. I have considered attaching a "Sharkguard" style hood that adapts to the riving knife holder but wasn't sure how frequently it would be in the way. Thanks, John.

Here is a link where I posted regarding installing the HTC outfeed roller system on a sawstop. You will have to drill holes in the cabinet.

Hope this helps

I looked at those rails and cringed when I decided to cut them. I handed them to a friend who works at a tool shop and he cut them. I do not regret it at all. The excalibur table is a little wider than the Jessem though. Here is the pic. I felt that I might be too far away from the blade if I didn't.

I do not like the overhead guards and i think mine gets in my way. It works good for DC but most of the time it is rotated out of the way. I am trying to sell mine cheap.

I have a shark guard (Shark guard for the PM2000 and sawstop - friend gave me his guard from his PM2000 and I bought the adapter to make it work with the SS) for it as well and I just do not like the width of the hood collector myself. I will put up with the blow-by. I do love the shark guard splitter though - it is very nice.

Here is mine with the HTC base. Shoudlnt be an issue now, but the old version won't fit the SawStop. What HTC told me was that if both boxes don't have the New Improved Design sticker it is the old one. Mine arrived from Amazon no problem.

Mike, where did you get the spare wing? Aren't the SS tables 30" vs. the std 27".

I am using an Incra setup on my SawStop with 92" rails. I don't feel comfortable going from perfect alignment for a TS cut, then moving the stops for routing and back to TS. I always feel like I need to check alignment.

BTW what should I do with my old Incra 72" rails, 28" bridge and fence?

Calvin - I like that out feed table - I wonder if it will fit a Powermatic PM2000

What make is it?

Thanks

Tom, I believe that is the same as the one Todd linked in his post previously in this thread:

http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=77616&highlight=Outfeed+roller

Certainly something I may consider looking into. Very nice and convenient. I was considering just making a work bench that could double as an outfeed table, but that could post problems for when I have a project on the bench and need to cut large sheets on the table saw.

Yes Alex one in the same.

I just got a WoodCraft flyer and it is sale for $299, saves $80.

Calvin, you could get an extension wing made by quality grinding (see the vendors forum). They quoted me one with a router cutout for a lift for 250$ when I was considering putting a lift on the left side. I am sure you could get a left side wing made from them for less than the $250, though don't quote me on the price, with the cost of material all over the place things may change. I would like a left side wing that goes out another 10-16 inches, that would be nice to have (assuming the weight isn't an issue, would have to confirm with Sawstop.

Never liked roller tables. Often expensive; you can easily build a fixed outfeed table of a decent size and contact cement some laminate on the top, plow out for the miter slot for under $100 with poplar/mdf. There are many great plans for outfeed tables that are hinged too for tighter work areas. Just don't like spending $300 on something I can build for much cheaper. :D

Mike-

Do you run into any issues with the box limiting your ability to open the door on the rt side of the saw? I am getting a Sawstop Friday and would like to add a box like you did but was worried about not being to open the side door.

Thanks,
Jeremy

The felder guard is narrow and has integral dust collection. It works great. and its cheap did i mention that?

Jeremy, the box is not attached to the shelf so I just move it out of the way when I need in the cabinet. Works perfect.

The extra left table came from a member who was not using his as he cut the rails for his Mast R Slide.

Sold the PSI guard a couple weeks ago. It is now GONE!
