Thanks Andrew. Just didn't go down far enough. They look good enough for bowls but would like to have them a longer for HF vessels. I have turned 3 or 4 HF out of NIP but they were 8" to 9" long with the knots towards the top and not in the middle. Thanks for the link though. The wood for bowls looks really nice.

Harvey,

Send Chris Allen your requirements and he can probably help you. I visited him back in March and shipped 2 cylinder sections back in flat rate boxes that had to be "flattened" a little to fit the boxes. I hate to admit that I still have one sealed up to work on, and the other only roughed out. The eyes are something else, but I need to get it thinner to try for the translucent look that looks so good.

I did not see any bowl blanks there like he has posted now, but that would give a larger diameter than the cylinder for a hollow form when using the flat rate boxes which are by far the cheapest.
