Has anyone ever built a cabinet for an LCD or plasma TV that incorporates a motorized lift. If so, can you please show me the mechanism?

I see a couple on ebay for around $450 that appear to be eligible for 30% MS cashback, one with free shipping. If it fills the bill, $315 certainly sounds more palatable.

Other than demand, why should these mechanisms be so pricey? Seems to me that some of the features, e.g., "whisper-quiet drive" would not be universally necessary. Would anyone be running this up and down every time the TV is turned on?

If you search for Auton and Linak you may find some mechanisms to suit your needs, but for $$$!
