Wood Gloat part 2

No new pictures. But I now have over 40 bowl blanks with pith's removed (not rounded out) ends are sealed and they are sitting on two pallets with a grey plastic tarp over them. There is Maple, Spalted Maple, Bradford Pear and some Birch. Looks like I'll be getting some walnut and maybe some cherry to join them.

Question is: Will they be safe from checking up over the winter? I don't see getting to all of them before then and the wife is not going to let me bring that much inside.

yes you will lose some, the pear and cherry will check very easily, you might make the cherry logs/blanks extra long so to cut off some before turning

bringing them inside will not really help as long as they are covered but with air movement thru/under the tarp and they are off the ground

i am planning to put some hf blanks of oak in cardboard barrels after the leaves fall, hope i can get some cherry and apple
