Can anyone tell me what companies you recommend for ordering reasonably priced cabinet doors?

I ordered from Cabinetdoordepot.com. I don't know if they have the best prices. But I tought they were reasnobale and I liked the service and the ease of ordering online.

I'd probably order cabinet boxes and drawer boxes before I'd order doors simply because I'm pretty anal about how rails, stiles and panels look and many of the "reasonably priced" doors out there are pretty darn mismatched when it comes to lumber choices. Cabinet boxes, while easy to make, are more "busy work" and if I need time savings, I'll choose to make the "show" pieces and sub contract the innards every time. (In fact, I've bought drawer boxes several times for my larger cabinetry projects for the time savings)

But I agree with Jim, doors are probably the last thing I'd want to sub out on a cabinet job. Of course, I have some experience making doors and am set up to do it.

If you sub the doors and get them prefinished, many good companies can provide stains and finish to match for face frames if needed, some can provide the face frames too if desired.

Funny you say that, as almost all cabinet shops sub-out doors.

True, but I know plenty who like to control the overall look. There are an awful lot of cabinet door companies out there who make a good consistent product. The problem for shops who are selling on their reputation for quality to picky customers is that the "consistency" does not necessarily mean uniform color and grain, and almost certainly doesn't include panels laid up with the whole kitchen in mind. Some (most?) customers would never notice that a raised panel is glued up from random 2" strips. But as things tighten up economically, I think that shops will begin to differentiate themselves by educating clients on these issues.

I have an order coming in from Walzcraft. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive, but a ton of options and the sample doors I ordered were very well made. I view them as having custom options at less than full custom cost. The order will come in soon, and I will report back.

I have ordered from Walzcraft before also when I was doing a lot of re-facing jobs, always good quality and made right the first time, I would recommend them, also they are very flexible with what they will make for you…..
