coffin smoother

Anybody know where I can get more info on building a coffin smoother plane? I found one link but not super clear any books that have good level of details since I am new to all this?

Try looking up David Marks on the DIY network site. He did an episode of Woodworks on building a smoothing plane.

Thanks John I got some info sent to me buy helpful woodworkers...I have 2 plans that go into pretty good detail so I'm just looking for some suitable wood to start chopping and gluin:)

There is a Book written by a man named David Finck Making and Mastering Hand Planes it is almost must hane for all hand plane uses and it has several chapter on sharpening and several other topics besides making planes..
