I really want to try some of the Lenox bi-metal blades and I'm looking for a good recommendation on where I should purchase them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you're talking about bandsaw blades, I get mine from Iturra Design, toll free 866-883-8064.

Note that blades cost $1 more than listed, unless you buy 5 of one kind. It's a very small operation and some have had difficulties contacting them at times, but I've gotten blades with good welds promptly at excellent prices.

I bought a Tri-master from them and satisfied with price and service.

I use Toolcenter as Jim F. And by the way JIm.. thanks. I need to order some Lennox blades and always forget their name... and of course I don't write it down as my wife would. :)

+1. John shipped me out my order last week in 2 days. 4 blades, all 150" long, around 70 bucks shipped (not carbide).

Thanks guys, I've got a 1/4"-6tpi and 3/8"-4tpi Die-master2 on the way. I also splurged and grabbed a 1/2"-3tpi tri-master for resaw on my 14" griz.

I used Kaufman they don't have as large selection as Toolcenter, but lower cost and great service also. Check out my post http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?p=900420#poststop

I looked there, but it seems like everything was out of stock. The prices are good though.

It shows up out of stock because they are custom welded to your size. Just put the length in the boxes, don't forget a 0" in the fraction box if you have a even inch, and click to order. It totals the price and lets you order the blade.

OK I've found interest in this post. I have a 1HP Delta 14" w/riser. I'm a hobbyist that resaws occasionally. I had a Timberwolf 3/4" resaw blade that I wasn't too impressed with (I could resaw faster with their 3/8" blade). I actually destroyed it by bending it when I tried to curl it up...oops. So I'm in the market for a new blade. Is the TriMaster for me or should I be looking at something like a Woodslicer. Plus some recommend a 1/2" and others 3/4" width band for my saw - any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mike

A 14" bandsaw is going to have trouble generating the tension needed for a 3/4" blade. That's probably the main reason why the 3/8" blade worked better for you. The riser is good, but it only adds height. If you want to do resawing, look into getting a 1/2" 3 TPI blade with an aggressive tooth pattern, like a hook.

I bought a 1/2" Trimaster band and a 3/8" bimetal band from Kaufman. Good prices and fast service.

My bandsaw is a 14" Delta with a riser block. The bandsaw sees more use in my shop than the tablesaw - I use it for rough cutting, dovetailing, ripping and resawing. I haven't had it for very long and I haven't done a lot of resawing yet, but I'm very impressed with the Trimaster. I've tested resawing on 8" ash and 6" oak and the cut is very smooth. The rip cuts have been much smoother than what I got with my Timberwolf band.

I haven't had the chance to use the bimetal blade yet.
