Hello All,

I am getting a house ready to sell for a friend and the bathroom has tin on the ceiling and walls with about 80 years worth of paint build-up. It has started to crack in several places. I need a cost effective fix. Or would it be best to leave it for the next owner? The tin has a stamped pattern and is hard to feather even with a detail sander. Even with her striping it it would be too much of a time investment.

Thanks in advance

I'd just leave it alone. It's been my experience that once you start trying to fix things in an old house you pretty much open up a can of worms. It'll be obvious to any buyer that upgrades are necessary, factor that into the asking price and leave the actual doing of the upgrades to them!
