I haven't really been in the market for a band saw as it's a 'handy but not necessary' addition to my shop. I expect the primary use would be re-sawing.

I recently found an older Jet JWBS-14 with riser blocks and a 1 hp motor that can be wired to 220. The owner has lowered his price to $300. It doesn't have a fence or miter gauge but has three blades, one unused. The owner is unsure of the age but it has the older blue/gray paint. Any idea when Jet changed to white?

Since I really haven't been shopping for a band saw I'm not sure if this is one of those 'I can't pass this up' deals. A little searching on the internet found a factory reconditioned Delta with riser block at about double the asking price but I think the older machines are often better quality.

Thoughts?

I just bought a 14" Powermatic off Craigslist for $200. It is in great shape but has no blades.
