Does anyone have any experience with the Sommerfeld Easy Bore system? Wondering if it drills pilots for screws or tap in posts?

It's set up for tap in posts.

The Easy Bore is designed to drill for the tap-in posts, but by just tapping on the two outboard drill bits instead of drilling with them you will get perfectly positioned center marks for drilling the screw holes as a second step after you have drilled the center hole and removed the Easy Bore fixture. I've used both types of hinges, and have had no problem using it this way. Of course it's a bit of a waste to buy the Easy Bore fixture if you aren't planning to use the post type hinges most of the time. I try to only buy post hinges, but got a great deal on a case of the screw mount type, and devised this work-a-round for them. Look out for the Lowes (Chinese hinges), though, as their screw locations are on the opposite side of the big hole and the Easy Bore fixture's hole pattern is wrong for them. It works perfectly for the hinges that it was designed for, which are the better quality "Blum" type hinges, or close copies. Just be careful where you get your hinges.
