We're planning on going to Cincinnati this summer and my father wants me to bring three buckeye seedlings back to Oklahoma. I have doubts that these trees would thrive here. Can anyone shed some light on this?

I don't see why not, although they'll like some water...every week or so for the first season after transplanting then every month during the dry season the following couple years til they get established.

We lived in the Witchita Mts area of Texoma for a number of years and could grow just about anything with occasional irrigation during the dry months.

Wolf,

I have several buckeye seedlings growing in my back yard. I got the "buckeyes" on the campus of OHIO STATE last October and they are now growing in my back yard.

They are still only about 6 inches tall. I also brought some acorns and I have a couple little Oaks growing as well.

I hope they continue to grow, but I have one 'tree' that is 5 years old and it seems to have died !
