So I bought the right size machined pulleys out of the Grizzly Catalogue, to put on my GO490X Jointer but the keyway is larger on the motor shaft, than the standard 3/16 key slot on the USA pulleys.
I guess I'm hooped.
Too bad... They are really nice pulleys.

I guess the problem is mating USA made, to China made???

A local machinist could probably enlarge the keyways to fit. Might be quicker and easier than packing and returning, reordering the correct pulleys.

Last time I fiddled with a sheared key, it was 5mm, not good ol' 'merican x/xx. A standard size in the McMaster catalog.

I've also had a local machine shop shave days off of re-assembly time by altering an existing 'thing' so it could be used instead of getting a new 'thing'.

A key way can be cut with a broach and a hydraulic press in minutes.
'Bout any machine shop in the world can do this for ya for a few bucks....

Auto parts houses stock standard key stock in 12" lengths.
Run down to one of them and see if they have any reducer key stock.
2 different sizes on one key.

Or try a machine shop.

...if they have the broach and the interest in doing it, which many won't. However, many of the busier electric motor shops will.

Dollars-wise, you may be better off returning the pulley you have for one with the correct slot.

Shawn, I'd just take a small metal working file and open up the pully keyway to match the motor. It shouldn't take but a few minuets.
