I picked up this older wood plane, since the price was right.
Any idea of its type and intended use would be nice.
It does not have a blade but I figured I might have one or make one if need be. Tis is its good side, somebody turned it on its side and used it for a backing to drill some holes, but I could fill them and sand them flush. Cheers Ron.

One possibility is that it had a toothed blade originally and was used to prepare a surface for veneer.

Could also have been a scraper plane.

I bought it because the angle of the blade seemed steep and thought it could be a scraper plane. I did not measure the angle, I think a scraper would be 95 degrees, something I lfound out since I bought this one. The throught looked in good shape, when I put a regular blade in it the gap was a little wide, but it most likely takes a thicker blade.
Cheers Ron.

It looks like a toothing plane as Mike suggests.

Probably German but definitely European.

With the horn.

I'd say German as well. I have a German scrub and a couple German jacks that are similar in appearance.

Yes, a toothing plane. These planes are still made by E. C. Emmerich and Ulmia:

Are there any markings on the plane?

No markings, just 46mm stamped in one end, the size I would think.
Cheers Ron.
