I have a HF SCMS. Been using it to cut down wood to size just enough to get it on the table saw. Still using the original blade and I think it's time for a better blade.

I thought about getting a better saw but this is all I use if for so I'd just like to get less tear out.

Any thoughts?

A Forrest Chopmaster would probably be overkill you your saw but most folks like that blade for their miter saws. For general work you could use an Avanti blade (made by Freud). I use that for general purpose cutting. I won't cut door rails with it or anything where I need extra precise cuts but, again, for general very good cuts it's a nice blade. You can get it at your local BORG. You could also probably get a good sale price at one BORG or another on an Irwin or Dewalt combo pack, usually something like a 40 tooth and a 60 tooth. YOu should be able to get a combo set for somewhere around $40 on sale.
