Butterfly inlays

I need to make some butterfly inlays on 1' and 1 1/2 hardwood like mesquite. The 2 plunge routers I have are Festool OS 1000 and Bosch 1617. They do not accept the solid brass router inlay kit made by Whiteside #9500 (Woodcraft Part #09116). This kit uses a Porter cable guide bushing which does not fit either of my plunge routers. Any suggestions from the group? Thanks Dennis :cool::cool:

Contact a Festool rep such as Bob Marino. I know I have a "PC format" guide bushing adapter for my OF1010. There is a similar part "out there" for the Bosch if I'm not mistaken. You could also get a clear sub-base from Pat Warner for the Bosch that will take the PC guide bushing format. I have one of those for my old PC7529 plunger.

Not sure if I completely understand your post but Bosch makes an adaptor for the PC bushings.

Brian nailed it, thats all you need for the Bosch to do the job.

I have one for mine 1617 and it works very well, it fits right into the base of the 1617 and then you can use the PC bushings.

Thanks Brian and Jim Becker. I think I have the Bosch router working but the depth of inlay cut is limited to 1/2". Is that all I can get?

Bosch makes an inlay kit for their routers. I saw one about two weeks ago, but don't have a Bosch router so I really didn't look at it closely. It had a guide bushing with an additioanal removable bushing and a bit. All you need except for the pattern.
here's where I saw it, I think for around $20.
