How does the Tite-Mark Gauge function--would you recommend it compared to other, more traditional, types of marking gauges? What about the Tite-Mark vs. similar models which are much less expensive--for example, Veritas has one knock-off. Thanks for your assistance...

I wouldn't call any of Veritas' products 'knock-offs'. They make great woodworking tools.

I would sure buy their marking gauge first (well, I did, but the old non-micro adjust) before laying down $80 for the Tite-Mark. Lee Valley's customer service is superior. They will take it back if you don't want it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the Tite-Mark is great. It is heavy and appears to be well made.
