I have to mill material for ceiling panelling, with a ceiling 17' from the floor. Do I need to make it tongue-and-groove? Is there any other joint I could route that would be a little easier but will still look great?

If T&G is the best option, I'll do it, but I just wanted to know before I start.

Also, any tricks to T&G (or finishing) for a floor using maple and mahogany? I like the combination a lot.

Thanks all you woodworking people.

The advantage to T&G for this application is that you can work your way across easily with each row interlocking after fasteners are shot at an angle through the tongue...same as laying a floor.
