Picked up a variable speed steel city grinder it has a stock gray and white stone not sure of the grit but the dealer will exchange it for anything. I have a wolverine jig comming what stone do I want to use I know what but what grit and they should both be the same correct?

Jason,

Like Bernie, I have 80 and 120 grit on my grinder.

Recently I bought Alan Lacer's video "Skew - The Dark Side-The Sweet Side". I had bought a pair of Lacer radiused skews last year and never sharpened or used them. He uses an even coarser grit. Watching him freehand grind the radiused skew I was impressed. I went to the shop and 4 or 5 hours later I could repeat the process. I am gearing up to do some more bowl turning and I am considering using the 80 grit instead of the 120 grit for sharpening my bowl gouges.
