I'm quite sure it will be a little smoother than the Grizz G0462 I'm upgrading from. Although aside from all the bad comments I've seen on this forum about the Grizz it has been a good lathe for me for what I paid for it. I have learned to live with it's faults (mainly the 600 rpm minimum speed) and how to work around them but I only paid $395 a year ago. And you know you only get what you pay for and I feel I have gotten my money's worth. I have turned over 100 bowls and over 50 pens with it and it has helped me learn a lot and helped me decide on what I wanted in an upgrade lathe. So all in all I have been happy with the Grizz. But after saying all that, I'm really looking forward to turning on the PM.

I upgraded from a Jet VS Mini to the PM and what a difference. I don't think you will be disappointed.
