I am about to start my new career, Truck Driver, and would like to have a 12 volt coffee maker. I know there are several different brands, and I need some advice. I just registered at a truck drivers forum, but am waiting on my password so I can post there and ask the same. But I also wanted to ask here. I want a large capacity(10-12 cups)maker, and I know they are slow to brew coffee. I have seen a 12 cup from Max Burton that I will probably get. Does anybody know if they take normal size drip filters? I know some come with the re-useable filters, I would like to use throw away filters(more convienient(sp?). Thanks for any comments.

If you add an inverter to your truck, you can use a normal coffeemaker. It's also handy for other things like small power tools, electric razor, hair dryer,
and so on. I have one that's 300 watts, will not quite run a circular saw.

Yes... I have a 350 watt inverter, but its not enough to run a coffee pot. Most 110 volt coffee pots take way more than 350 watts.

I have them pegged as somewhere around 750-1200 W.

Search for marine supply houses. They have tons of 12v stuff.
