I have been looking at motors online. Wondering if anyone knows what the difference between an Air compressor motor and a General Purpose motor is.
I find 5hp Baldor Air compressor motors as cheap as 3hp General purpose motors online. I would have thought an Air Compressor motor would be more expensive, tougher and have more start up torque?

$315.00 for a new Baldor motor seems cheap.
