I bought a couple of yellow Board Buddies to use on my PM66 tablesaw. I was planning on screwing the mounting track directly to the top of my Biesemeyer fence, but read postings on this forum regarding Biesemeyer-type fences lifting up during cuts.

Has anyone used Board Buddies successfully with a Biesemeyer fence? If yes, please comment on how you mounted the unit. Thanks in advance.

Adjust the board buddy wheels so that the pressure is sufficient to keep the work down and against the fence. If the work is lifting the fence, either the work is warped badly or the board buddy wheels are not adjusted properly.

I simply screwed the board buddy track (t-track, just not sized like typical 1/4 or 5/16 t-track) to my bies fence.

When I had that format of fence, I used the methods shown in Jim Toplin's Table Saw Magic. I never had any issue with "lifting" of the fence. Given that way over 90% of the fences sold on saws today only mount in the front like the Biesemeyer, I think that this is something that you don't need to worry about "too much".

I attached mine to my sacrificial fence.

I used an auxillary fence, too, a length of roughly 2x3 attached to the Biesmeyer and sharply beveled on the face at the top to allow the hold downs to get very close for small work. This was on an older Powermatic saw that I sold years ago and can't remember if I used a clamp on the far end to prevent lifting up, but if it's a problems it's easy enough to address.

I made the mounts for mine.
I had issues with them lifting the Bies but they worked fine once I had them adjusted correctly.
Fact is, I rarely ever use them, I find that they just get in the way more often than not.
I’ll sometimes pull them out if I’m cutting rabbits with the dado blade but that’s about it.
