Anyone made a short screen/room divider?

We leave our dog in the house during the day and need to block a wide doorway to keep her from "staining" the carpet. The doorway is about 80" wide and we would like it to remain open most of the time. Those two requirements rule out standard baby gates.

Right now we use a 1/2 sheet of plywood (halved lengthwise) wedged between the door frame and a chair, but would like to replace it with something more practical, more attractive, and less conspicuous.. Maybe something similar to those 3-pane hinged screens, but with more panels and shorter/more stable. We could go with simple mdf and hinges painted white, but I thought something a little nicer looking would be better.

Any suggestions, examples?

Not sure if this is an option for your situation, but I made some gates that hinge on the ends and meet in the middle. They are on "lift-off" hinges, so they are easy to take on & off. We use these as baby/dog gates.

Very nice work, Scott. So, the gate on the right . . .stairs going down?

Thank you, correct.
