I'd had to be the guy that says "Hmmm..wonder what this button does" as the last thing on the voice recorder before the crash.

Here's a quick look at the Garmin from my car, in my son's cockpit.

It told us twice to take the entrance ramp onto the NJ Turnpike! LOL!

The second is the cockpit in a Cessna 172SP. The bigger screen is the aviation Garmin.

There is a great book "In the Cockpit" showing plenty of pilot's views.

If he would have downloaded the redneck version it would even be funnier.

Seems like it was just yesterday, boy am I getting old.

Soon all the military aircraft I flew will only be in museums.

Umm... Let's see - for me it was: T-34, T-37, T-33, C-118, C-123, T/CT-29, C-47, C-141. Yep, all museum pieces.:(

When did you fly C-141's? I worked on them from '78-'93 both the A's & B's. It was really strange the first time I saw a B. It was the old white and grey paint job with a couple of silver tin cans stuffed in it.

Ah. I flew them when they were new. Tinker 1966. Charleston, 1966 - 1968. Flew some that only had a few hundred hours on them. Has to be my favorite aircraft - really a joy to fly.:)

Hmmm a little more complicated than the Airspeed and needle&ball from the old 65hp champ I last flew:D Oh ya, it also had a fuel gauge that would bounce between F & E for the whole flight, no heater and 1/2" bent roundstock for the rudder pedals :) Brakes? ya I think it had brakes:)
