I bought a used Beading Tool and need to know how to sharpen it; any advise?

Gary,
I have a 3/8" beading tool....kinda shaped like a hook....The directiions with it recommend using a diamond sharpening card and hone the flat tops surface and the flat bottom surface in the areas of the hook. I hope this makes sense. Hone the areas above and below the "beading area".

I bought a Sorby 3/8" beading tool at Woodcraft a while back and they told me to sharpen it exactly the way Ken described. I would have assumed one would sharpen the "inside" with a round hone or file, but they said absolutely not; just hone the flat surfaces.
I don't think my problems is really a sharpening issue, but I wouldn't give two cents for the results I've gotten with mine. I've given up on it. I probably just haven't figured out how to use it properly.
Hope you have better luck.
