Was looking to get a ballpark on what a lighted outdoor channel letter sign, like the one in the link below would cost

It will consist of 17 letters. I know it will depend on size, etc, but just looking for a ballpark if anybody can help. I am in the Tampa area in case somebody in the biz is here and wants to quote as well.

Depends some on the letter size, installation height, type of lighting, if any, and local agency permit fees.

I don't do electrical, nor am I in your area, but last time I had experience with one of those, where I subbed much of the work, was about 8 years ago. The cost was about like this:

12" Injection Molded Channel Letters ordered from Gemini by me: $22/letter
(Formed Channel letters would have been closer to $90/letter)

Can, neon, transformer and installation by local contractor: $2,300

Permit from city: $85

Now many are done with LED which may is a lot less expensive than neon, about $1 per led and the power supply is under $100. Usually comes 6 LEDs/foot in 100 foot reels.

Hope this helps, until someone more knowledgeable posts.

In my neck of the woods...red led's are comparable in price to red neon - referring to sloan or gelcore - but the white is up to 50% more.
