View Full Version : Looking for Hinges

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a certain type of hinge for kitchen cabinets.

I am going to build a new kitchen and have decided to build the doors and face frames from full 1" thick finished stock. The doors will be constructed from full depth mortise and tenon joints for strength and durability (I have 12' ceilings, so some of the doors are going to be quite large on the upper cabinets).

Anyway, I am going with full inset doors and want to minimize all the tedium of installing fully mortised hinges and would instead like to use either full or partial wrap-around hinges like these:

The problem is that I cannot find them for anything thicker than 13/16" doors! I know I could always mill a rabbit on the back side of the hinge edge of the door, but that is going to weaken the M&T joint (actually, I guess I could cut a stopped rabbit short of the joint(s)).

So does anyone know of similar hinges for 1" thick doors?
